Vegan Carrot Hot Dogs with Homemade Mustard and Ketchup
I’m sure many of you are familiar with vegan carrot dogs. I’ve been wanting to try them for the longest time because they really are very intriguing. I’ve been putting off trying them because although a carrot is much easier than making your own vegan sausage , I actually hate boiling and steaming veggies (shocking confession I know) but I stumbled across a recipe for baked vegan carrot dogs which is just so much easier.
I will admit when I was approached by Keen’s to make some recipes for them I had no idea what to do because I very very rarely eat mustard on anything. About the only thing I use mustard for is a honey mustard sauce for mushrooms and vegan hot dogs! Thought this would be the perfect opportunity to finally try a carrot dog!
So as the title suggests the recipe is actually three recipes in one. I’ll probably do some seperate posts for the ketchup and mustard at some point too.
This was such a fun recipe to make! There are quite a lot of ingredients and a few steps but I really tried to simplify the recipe as much as possible. In fact it’s probably the easiest carrot dog recipe I’ve seen. There are many differing opinions on whether carrot dogs are authentic tasting or not, I actually think they are! Especially when lathered in ketchup and mustard. And a much healthier option than any processed vegan sausage (or processed meat sausage) . Hope you enjoy this fun recipe!
