Avocado Almond Chocolate Mousse

One of my most favourite places to go to when I was in high school was an Italian restaurant chain called “La Porchetta” which I am sure anyone in Australia is very familiar with. One of my favourite things to get there was the chocolate mousse for dessert. I looked forward to it so much even though it almost always made me feel sick and I could never finish it. I still just love the idea of chocolate mousse, so indulgent and decadent. This recipe was one of the very first that I tried when I first discovered raw vegan desserts. It was a three ingredient chocolate avocado mousse. I was so skeptical but I thought I would give it a ago. I was so surprised at how delicious it was and how perfect the texture was. I actually immediately called mum and forced her to go make it right there on the spot. She called me back to tell me it was the most delicious thing she ever had, although both my brother and my dad decided they didn’t like it when they found out it had avocado! I have learned since then not to tell dad or Edy what is the food just in case they don’t even want to try it. I honestly still look forward to having this mousse especially after were having something Italian like a big bowl of home made pasta or pizza or risotto. It just makes me feel special. I also love whipping it up when I run out of chocolate in the house. I pimped out the recipe by adding a little bit of almond butter for extra nutrition and some vanilla extract. In the pictures I have served the mousse with raspberries (although I prefer strawberries), chopped almonds and my chocolate buckwheat granola. You can find the recipe for the granola here: https://talidavoinea.au/chocolate-buckwheat-superfood-granola/ If you have not tried avocado mousse before you need to! You can not taste the avocado and its so healthy you might as well have it for breakfast.
