Strawberry Chia Jam
I am sure you have seen many chia jam recipes on the internet already. This one is no different. I just wanted it on my blog because I make it all the time. I was actually never much of a jam eater. The only flavours I really enjoyed was plum and strawberry, and as of recently, blackberry. They are the only flavours I recreate now, but you can really sub any berry you like. The best thing about chia jams is that that you don’t have to add all that sugar! I was reading up recipes on how to make real jam and I was shocked at how much sugar is needed, I decided there and then I was never going to make real jam. Chia jams are so much better than the store bought ones which taste artificial to me even if they are not. The only downside to them is that they don’t last very long. You can keep a normal store bought jam in the fridge for months, probably years before it goes off, chia jams only really last about a week. But that plum chia jam I uploaded a while back lasted a lot longer than that, most likely because the plums were cooked. I got a good three weeks out of it, I might have gotten more but we finished it 🙂 The recipe for the plum jam is here https://talidavoinea.au/plum-chia-jam/ Enough of me blabbing here is the recipe:
Strawberry Chia Jam | Print |
- 1 cup hulled strawberries
- 1 TBSP chia seeds
- 1 TBSP liquid sweetener of choice. I use raw honey.
- Blend all ingredients together in a blender until you reach your desired consistency. You can make it super smooth or a little chunky depending on how you like your jam
- Place in the fridge overnight until set - lasts 1 week in the fridge
looks delicious and healthy 🙂
Thanks Clara! I usually leave it a little chunkier, still getting used to my new blender 😛
